So... I finally started recording my music. It's sounding good so far. I need to record vocals still, and mix the song we are working on, but overall I'm happy with the results. We are probably going to record four or five songs overall, depending on how this turns out. While the first day moved a little slowly (the day we recorded drums, and scratch guitar), the second day went surprisingly smoothly.
( Here are some pictures from the recording session for those of you who care... ) |

I have a wonderful friend who really needs a place to stay for awhile, because she isn't able to stay at her house anymore. If any of you know somewhere she can stay for awhile, PLEASE contact me, or respond to this post as soon as possible. She would be eternally grateful, I'm sure, as would I. |

You all know by now the type of artwork I do (and if you dont, you should follow the fucking link on my LJ already, and look at my Art Conspiracy page), so I'd like recommendations that would suit my art style. I'm thinking about getting a portfolio together, and try to get accepted to an art school for either the Spring, or Fall semester of next year. |

So it's official. George Lucas is trying to ruin my fondest childhood memories.
But even more exciting (or depressing) information that came out of the convention were the copies of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD Collection (due September 21st, as if you weren't aware) that were making their way around the convention to those in the know, with connections, or sticky fingers. So for those fearing (or hoping) that Lucas would again make extensive changes to the classic first three movies in the saga, you will get your wish. Everything from less readily apparent changes - sound effects to the color of a lightsaber - to more substantive additions, including Ian McDiarmid (the evil Emperor) replacing Clive Revill in The Empire Strikes Back, to Anakin Hayden Christensen's face (badly) added to the body of Sebastian Shaw at the end of Return of the Jedi, or a chorus of cheering Gungians (or whatever those Jar Jar things are called) also tacked on to the finale of Jedi, will be found in the new DVDs.
ugh.... |

Thank God I somehow miraculously ended up with six fucking days off in a row, because if I didn't I'd probably be out for blood by this time tomorrow. |

P.P.S. My asst. manager is doing some retarded bulletin board thing-a-majig, and he wants us to pick a cartoon character that is similar to us personality wise. Because I'm lazy, and also because I am probably the last person on Earth be a good judge of my own character, can you guys help me out? |

It amazed me how even at the age of 22, these episodes are still good, and still hold up. This was, without a doubt, the best dramatic cartoon even intended for children. It was so unbelievably well made, and it saddens me that a new Batman cartoon is being made without any of the people that worked on the original. I have this horrible feeling the new cartoon will suck, infact. Only minor disappointment I have with the boxset, is it's only Season One, meaning that the two part Ra's al Ghul story is not on it. |

| John Kerry has just officially won the election..... |
[Jul. 6th, 2004|07:49 am] |

John Kerry has just announced John Edwards as his running mate. While I was somewhat hoping he'd announce Hillary Clinton, if for nothing else, so there would be a woman in a high ranking office, this was secretly the decision I was hoping for. John Edwards will bring ALOT to Kerry's campaign, charisma, swing voters, and most importantly, the South. And what's even better is I genuinelly LIKE John Edwards. He was one of the few people in the primaries who I really respected. Polls show with Edwards as a running mate, it may boost Kerry's polls as much as 10%. I think it's safe to say in January, we will never have to worry about George W. Bush again, and that is fucking wonderful news. |

The creepiest thing just happened to me. For shits and giggles, I decided to type my last name, and do a google image search. One of the images that came up was a Scott Romig in some band I've never heard of, but apparently Yoko Ono is a fan of them. Since I saw the link was music related, and since his first name kinda drew my attention since my middle name happens to be Scott, I decided to click on it. This is where it gets creepy. The picture of this guy on the website, while he doesn't bear any striking resemblance to me, he still looks quite a bit like me, with black hair.... though I suppose it's possible maybe it was just in that one photo where he looked a little like me. AND he was wearing a Radiohead shirt. Fucking creepy. I wonder if he's some distant blood relative that I dont know of. I asked my dad, and he had no clue. |

Why am I still awake at 7 am you may be wondering? (Although in all honesty, I haven't gone to bed before 5 in probably about 3 weeks, so I guess this isn't that strange) I just got home from work about an hour and a half ago. Tonight we completely demolished a huge fixture at my work, and it took about 4 hours to completely dismantle it. I got to live out my dream of taking a sledgehammer, and destroy something at my work, and I got paid for it. You all have no clue how much joy that brought me. It also exhausted the hell out of me though, which is why it's probably a good thing I don't have to work for another three days, so I can sleep as late as I want today. It is however getting kind of annoying waking up at like 4 p.m. I've done that almost every day the last week, and I feel like my whole day is gone. I had actually made a conscience effort to go to sleep at a reasonable (for me atleast) time tonight (which would be like 3 am), but I ended up staying awake waaaaay later then I thought I would at work today. Oh well... it's early, and I think I'm officially tired now. Time for bed. |
